Dementia Radio Rules:

General Public:
    Respect everyone. Everyone has there own opinions. Please to do not ridicule or shun someone for having a different opinion than you. This is not to say you can't tell someone that they're wrong for having an idea in a joking and friendly manner. If you really don't want to hear what they have to say, just put them on ignore!
    Try to keep the content PG-13. We are at least of high school age and older, so a few swear words, a little perversion, and connotations are fine, but please try to keep it from becoming hard core and over board.
    No idling without ever talking. Lots of other people idle. We don't care if you idle in the channel. In fact if you're an op and you idle, it helps protect the channel. But PLEASE DON'T idle in the channel and never talk. It's a CHAT room. If you are not going to chat, what are you doing there?
    Be respectful of the current DJ that is on air. If you know that a DJ is live on air, and it is obvious that the DJ is trying to make conversation about the set, do not be rude and try to pull the conversation completely away from what the DJ is trying to do.
    During live DJ sets, URL links that directly link to an audio or video link, are not allowed. DJs have the option to link audio or video links during their set. Regular URL links that do not pull one's attention audibly away from the DJ is allowed.
    Everyone has their bad days, and may need to rant every now and then, but please remember that Comedy music is supposed to be fun and happy! Don't always come into the IRC channel and complain, as it is just a downer for everyone else when it is done on a daily basis.
    Respect others MOTD and Topics. A little known fact is that anyone can set the MOTD, but please respect other people's messages. If someone has recently posted a MOTD or topic that is important to them, do not replace it with something silly. If a topic or MOTD is old and outdated, change away.

Channel Ops:
    Ops are only given to active DJs.
    No banning regular chat users without good reason or agreement from most of the other OPS.

DJs:
    Approved live broadcasts of concerts trump all scheduled DJs.
    You MUST be able to be reached during your show! You MUST be in the IRC chat room during your set, just in case something goes wrong with your stream. Other instant message platforms may be used as a secondary means only if IRC is being a pain, but the IRC chat room is required.
    Even though this is a PG-13 and up radio station, if you are going to play some songs that are graphic or can be objectionable, you must at least give fair warning on air about the context of your show audibly on air.
    No more than 3 songs or 15 minutes worth of "mainstream" music. On-mic time and station IDs between songs does not count when considering this rule (3 songs in a row when looking at the song history or 15 minutes of music time). After 3 songs or 15 minutes of "mainstream" music has been played, the DJ MUST play a minimum of 15 minutes worth of comedy music. This is a COMEDY radio station!
    Comedy stand-up routines are acceptable, but please remember that this is mainly a "comedy music" station. It is not desirable for a full blown stand-up show.
    Songs of a geeky / steampunk nature that are not necessarily comedy are also acceptable. Techno / DDR / Europop / mash-ups / upbeat non-mainstream dance music is another acceptable exception for late-night music. (This one is grandfathered in from when Bill ran The Toad Accelerating Moment)
    No more than 3 songs or 15 minutes worth of the same artist. Exceptions will be made for specific seasonal songs that are exceptionally long (example: Alice's Restaurant). Also, this rule does not apply when the station is airing a live concert from a convention.
    No more than 3 songs or 15 minutes worth that are not in English. Exceptions can be made with permission before the airing of that show. (example: an all anime set that has already gotten permission to air)
    For newly released albums, DJs are NOT allowed to play any of the bonus / hidden tracks of the album for at least 2 weeks from the release date.
    DJs must be age 16 or older in order to even be considered to DJ here at Dementia Radio. Prospective DJs must send a sample show as a try-out before they will be considered for a show here.
    DJs are responsible for airing their own pre-recorded shows. The existing shows that are pre-recorded are grandfathered in, until they stop creating shows, and then if they want them aired again, they will have to work out the logistics of getting their shows aired on the station. (Exception: a once in a blue moon pre-recorded show if the DJ can not make it that week)
    DJs must let us know when they can not make a set. Three or more misses without notification, then that DJ is no longer allowed on air. Acceptable ways to let us know, some examples are: posting a message in the station's Facebook group, Email, and IRC.
    Pirate casts are a good change of pace at times, but they must not interfere with scheduled shows, Live from Conventions, etc. Pirate casts are limited to only two hours per week by the DJ casting, and adhere by the other rules for the DJs. Abuse of this rule may result in termination of your ability to DJ here.
